An important decision awaits the international driving community in 2026: the FEI Driving Athlete Representative will be elected for the 2026–2030 term.
The elected representative will serve as the voice of international driving athletes within the FEI and will be a member of both the FEI Driving Committee and the FEI Athletes' Committee.
Who is standing for election?
Three candidates, who meet the FEI eligibility requirements and have officially declared their candidacy for the position of FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030, are standing for election.
The FEI announced the official list of candidates on 15 June 2026.

Who is eligible to vote?
Driving athletes are eligible to vote if they are at least 18 years of age on the day of voting and have represented their country within the eight years preceding the election (including the election year) at one of the following FEI senior championships:
- FEI World Championships for Seniors
- FEI Continental Championships for Seniors
It does not matter whether the athlete competed as an individual or as a member of a team.
The eligibility requirements are set out in Article 6.9.4 of the FEI Internal Regulations.
When does the election take place?
The election of the FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030 will take place during the official election period established by the FEI, from 3 August until 31 October 2026 (23:59 CEST/CET).
Eligible athletes may cast their vote online at any time during this election period.
How do I vote?
The election of the FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030 is conducted exclusively online through the official FEI voting platform.
All eligible driving athletes will receive an email from the FEI confirming their voting eligibility and providing all the information required to cast their vote. The email includes a link to the official online voting platform, the athlete's personal FEI ID, and instructions on how to log in.
Athletes must log in using their personal FEI ID and their usual FEI password. If the password has been forgotten, it can be reset using the password recovery function provided by the FEI.
Once logged in, the officially approved candidates for the position of FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030 will be displayed. Athletes can then cast their vote for one of the candidates.
Online voting is only possible during the official election period established by the FEI. The ballot closes on 31 October 2026 at 23:59 CET.Should athletes experience any technical difficulties accessing the voting platform or submitting their vote, the FEI provides technical support.
Important - Each eligible athlete may cast one vote. Through this election, international driving athletes decide who will represent their interests over the next four years on the FEI Driving Committee and the FEI Athletes' Committee.
Where do I vote?
The election of the FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030 takes place exclusively online through the official FEI voting platform.
Eligible athletes can access the voting portal via the link provided in the official FEI email. After logging in with their personal FEI ID and their usual FEI password, they can cast their vote online, regardless of where they are in the world.
The online voting platform is available worldwide, 24 hours a day, throughout the official election period established by the FEI.
Good to know - Voting can be completed from any internet-enabled computer, tablet or smartphone. All that is required is access to the official FEI online voting platform and the athlete's personal login credentials.
Why is this election so important?
By electing the FEI Driving Athlete Representative 2026–2030, international driving athletes decide who will represent their interests within the FEI over the next four years.
The elected Athlete Representative serves as a member of both the FEI Driving Committee and the FEI Athletes' Committee. In this role, they bring the views, concerns and experience of active driving athletes into important discussions and decision-making processes, including rule changes, horse welfare, the future development of the sport and many other issues affecting international driving.
