ger LINK | The INEOS FEI Four-in-Hand Driving World Championship will be held from September 4-8 in Szilvásvárad, Hungary, a symbolic location for Hungarian horse breeding.

This beautiful village, located at the foot of the Bükk Mountains, will soon welcome nearly fifty drivers from 14 nations. Based on the preliminary entries, eight world champions will also participate in this prestigious event, where more than 250 horses will compete.

The sport of driving is highly popular worldwide and consists of three disciplines. Dressage focuses on the harmony between horse and driver, as well as the appearance and synchronization of the team.

Marathon driving shows the essence of the sport, requiring endurance, strength, and a calm temperament.

Finally, obstacle driving tests precision and speed.

Spectators, whether seasoned or new to the sport, will get to witness all three events during the INEOS FEI Four-in-Hand Driving World Championship from September 4-8.

Is four-in-hand driving the most complex sport in the world?
Hungary has a rich history of success in this sport, having hosted 17 driving world championships, including this year's event. Up until last year, Hungarian drivers had won 109 medals, 52 of them gold, in World and European Championships.

Many consider four-in-hand driving one of the most complex sports in the world, requiring constant harmony between four horses, the driver, and two assistants

This harmony will be on full display during the upcoming world championship at the Szilvásvárad Lipizzaner Equestrian Centre, offering an unforgettable experience for both young and old.

The location is Szilvásvárad

Szilvásvárad, an iconic symbol of Hungarian horse breeding, is home to a Lipizzaner stud farm, and the horses are often referred to as "the white rocks of the Bükk Mountains"

The village is hosting the Four-in-Hand Driving World Championship for the second time, with the first being in 1984. That legendary event was marked by outstanding organization and was further highlighted by the participation of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who competed as a member of the British team.

Additionally, 27 Hungarian-bred horses, mainly Lipizzaners, competed in 11 teams.

The dressage competition will take place on September 5-6, the marathon on the 7th, and the obstacle driving on the 8th. Tickets and passes can be purchased at www.jegymester.hu.

On-site, visitors can also enjoy a variety of programs, and the surrounding attractions, such as the
Szalajka Valley and Fátyol Waterfall, invite exploration.

Be part of the competition!
Come and witness the harmony between driver and horses, and cheer on the competitors!

The National Event Organizing Agency Non-profit Ltd., in cooperation with the Hungarian Equestrian Federation, is responsible for organizing the event, based on a successful Hungarian bid and an agreement with the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). The infrastructure for the event is provided by the State Stud Farm Szilvásvárad.
