in Kürze! The marathon of the CAIO Windsor, GBR, 2018, did not go according to desire for Team Chester Weber. The competition at the Royal Windsor Horse Show began with a great dressage and Team Chester Weber started highly motivated in the marathon. Unfortunately, a small accident happened - as Chester comments: "Mother Nature was not on our side for the marathon competition at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. The ground was uncharacteristically hard and fractured in places from sunny, dry conditions the recent days, so when it did begin to rain midday, the marathon course became incredibly slippery. I found it difficult to manage the track of the carriage, and as a result, my groom Kristóf Osztertág fell off coming out of Obstacle 2. He sustained a contusion to the left shin, was checked by paramedics, and approved to continue.
After completing the course, we were informed that we’d been eliminated, due to some misunderstanding during the incident. Should the elimination not have occurred, preliminary results showed that we would have been in 3rdplace heading into tomorrow’s cones phase.
While we’re disappointed, the most important thing is that Kristóf, who was checked again by medical professionals after the marathon, is OK, and should heal completely. The horses also all came out of today in fantastic shape. We were really pleased with our dressage test. It looks like the team is coming together to really become an international force in dressage!
We want to thank the Royal Windsor Horse Show for hosting this beautiful show at such a remarkable venue. It’s a wonderful organization, and we’re glad to be here in its 75thyear.
We are already back at our European base in Beekbergen, the RIANT Equestrian Centre, and focus on training for our next competition in June at the CAIO in Saumur, France"
We all wish Kristof a speedy recovery and that he will soon be fit again!
