Horses&Carriages at Schlosshof

From 3 to 5 March 2017 a meeting of "Horse-people from all over the World" takes place in the splendid historical setting of the imperial Schlosshof in Niederösterreich, Austria.

Is your passion horses? Do you want to see and hear new things? Are you infected with "horse fan virus"? Do you have sporting goals? Would you like to meet other horse fans? Do you want to learn from the best?

Following the motto „Downwards the blinkers” we are expanding our congress programme entire the overall Equestrian sport – recreational pleasure up to tournament sports. Handling with horses is a complex joy and science. No matter if you are a hobby rider – Pony girlie – Drivingsport World Champion – Grand Prix Dressage rider – Jumping- or Endurance expert. Western fan – Cob, Thoroughbred, Full-, Warm- or Cold blood … our focus is on our four-legged partners –the magnificent horses and ponies. Considerations – across the borderlines of disciplines and activities – is a quite a big enrichment for all.

Leading experts of the equestrian sport  – as the multiple FEI World Champion Boyd Exell from Australia, the Champions  Theo Timmerman, NED, and Dieter Lauterbach, GER, as well as one of the most successful siblings in the world of international driving –  Weronika and Bartłomiej Kwiatek, POL, re active to experience.

International Top-Veterinary, Trainer and Sport experts, will give lectures, in addition to the great horses during the stud presentations of the National Studs from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Austria - represented by the Federal Stud Piber.

An interesting panel discussion on Saturday evening, will be in the presence of the top representatives of FEI Driving sport – Károly Fugli and Manuel Bandeira de Mello – will bring up some important topics and provide information from first hand also future-oriented developments.

Modern practice-oriented - interesting for all horse enthusiasts  - the topic "First Aid ... what to do until the veterinarian comes" as well as horse feeding and the explanations of modern training of horses in different breeding, age and type, at the moderated trainings and demonstrations, under the saddle or on harness, at the magnificent historical riding hall at Schlosshof.

Look for yourself…in the saddle of a successful driving horse, the winner of a FEI medal Conversano Csalò – the European Champion of Eventing Charlotte Dobretsberger and in front of the carriage the Lipizzaner gelding will be presented by Vinzenz Dobretsberger.

The FEI – the internationalgoverning body of equestrian sports, offers at this congress, education and refresher courses for Judges, Course Designers and Technical Delegates. The Austrian Equestrian Association, OEPS – applied "Horse in Sport 2017" as official training for sports officials.

The International Equestrian Congress– Horse in Sport 2017 is exceptional. Enormous knowledge from international experts – up-to-date novelties and modern insights… and that, within a unique venue of a special venue – Schlosshof… the beauty of Prince Eugene of Savoy’s country estate in the Marchfeld, the fascinating world of Baroque will inspire you - the magnificent palace, the unique Baroque gardens and the idyllic estate farm with the stables, the riding halls - all this is the most beautiful setting for an international meeting of Horse friends and –experts.

For all visitors of Schlosshof, during lunchtime hours of the first weekend of March - Saturday and Sunday - will be presented in the magnificent historical setting, very special horses and carriages of the K & K monarchy studs.

Enjoy the magnificent stallions of the Czech National stud Kladruby in the Gala-Four-in Hand, or enjoy the black Nonius horses of the Hungarian National Stud Mezőhegyes, which are shown in Austria for the first time in the traditional Hungarian Five-in-Hand - with a historic Schalanken harness.

The ambassadors of Austria - the splendid Lipizzanians from Piber, will feel at home very much in the baroque castle and show that they have an important role in modern sport.

As "four-legged" hosts ... the stable- residents of the castle Schlosshof, Lipizzaner - Noriker - Haflinger and Ponys represent tradition and history. The extremely rare, white Austro-Hungarian baroque donkeys with long ears and blue eyes, thrills in front of the carriage.

Do you want to take the reins yourself?  No problem - in Schlosshof there is an ultra-modern carriage simulator … Let´s drive…!

In addition to the historic carriage collection of Schlosshof, a sale and a presentation fair can be visited there in the riding hall, around the topic horse, carriage and harness as well as information about the studs. The photo exhibition „We ❤ Horses“ will fascinate, and also for the physical well-being with quite a lot of Austrian hospitality is well taken care of - the gastronomy of Schlosshof offers among other things a traditional "Fiaker-Gulyás "
